The key benefits of PLANOFIL® for use in boat covers

highres-cilander_planofil-0275

Lightweight

At 190 g/m2, PLANOFIL® tarpaulin weighs less than any comparable product on the market. When it comes to a boat cover for an 8 or 9-metre long boat, this can be the difference of several kilograms. The low weight also saves time and energy when covering and uncovering a boat.

Space-saving

Our thin and light PLANOFIL® tarpaulins take up minimal space on board a boat, since they can roll up to a really compact size and even be stored away in small recesses.

Durable and hard-wearing

The specialist PU coating makes PLANOFIL® so hard-wearing that it withstands long-term exposure to the most adverse conditions in seawater. The key properties of the tarpaulin material are:

  • UV-resistant (UV protection factor 50+, tested to ISO 13758 standard)
  • Weather-resistant and temperature-resistant (from -40 to +80 ºC)
  • Waterproof (water column of 200 cm)
  • Seawater-resistant
  • Water-repellent (tested in accordance with Bundesmann ISO 29865)
  • Dirt-repellent
  • Special mould-prevention treatment

Low-maintenance

Bird droppings and other types of dirt can quickly render conventional boat covers unusable and cleaning them is simply too time-consuming. But with PLANOFIL®, covers virtually clean themselves. Thanks to a special water-repellent finish with non-stick properties, even heavy dirt struggles to stick to the surface of the tarpaulin; instead, it usually simply washes off the next time it rains.

Tear-resistant and abrasion-resistant

If you invest in a high-quality PLANOFIL® tarpaulin, you can rely on the reliable protection of your boat even after years of outdoor use. Even after long-term exposure to wind, rain and sunlight, the boat cover does not become brittle and retains its solid structure:

  • Tear resistance tested in compliance with ISO 13934-1
  • Tear propagation resistance tested in compliance with Elmendorf ISO 13937-1
  • Abrasion resistance tested in compliance with Martindale ISO 12947-2

Easy to handle

With PLANOFIL® you need no longer slave away covering and uncovering: Thanks to the textile structure on the inside, the ultra-light, flexible fabric glides easily and quickly over all surfaces.

"As passionate water sports enthusiasts, we had been looking for a high-quality and hard-wearing boat cover that would meet our requirements for some time. After thorough research and many positive recommendations, we decided on a PLANOFIL boat blade- and we were not disappointed.

The quality is exceptional. The material is not only robust and durable, but also amazingly light. For us, it is especially important that the boat tarpaulin is not unnecessarily heavy, as we often have to set it up and take it down. Its lightness proves to be extremely beneficial and allows for comfortable handling. It folds compactly and takes up minimal storage space, which is important when we have limited space on our boat. This gives us more room for other equipment and allows us to use our boat efficiently.

Another great advantage of the PLANOFIL cover is its quick drying time. After an exciting day on the water, we can therefore cover our boat super fast and go home with peace of mind. This time saving is invaluable for us.

In addition, the cover also looks just fantastic! We were able to choose colour, pattern and even logos to make our boat blade unique. The custom design reflects our personal style and preferences, which makes us even more proud of our MasterCraft boat.

Overall, we are completely happy and can highly recommend the PLANOFIL boat covers to all water sports enthusiasts and boat owners looking for a high quality, lightweight and quick drying tarpaulin."

FAQ

  • How easy is PLANOFIL® to clean?

PLANOFIL® is dirt-repellent and practically cleans itself. This is thanks to a special water-repellent finish with non-stick properties. Even stubborn dirt does not stick and is usually washed away again the next time it rains. This means that no washing agents or chemicals are required for cleaning – a special feature that helps protect our environment. The cover is also finished with an anti-mould treatment.

  • How do I clean and look after PLANOFIL® ?

Quick cleaning: Remove soiling as soon as a stain appears. In the case of stubborn or older dirt, clean with a very soft sponge and cold water.

Hand wash: Do not use steam or high-pressure cleaners to clean the tarpaulin. It is also not suitable for the washing machine.

Tap water: Do not use any conventional detergents and never use seawater for cleaning or rinsing. Use only cold tap water.

Store dry: Always ensure tarpaulin is dry before folding up and storing it.
