Wind, rain, sunshine – materials intended for use outdoors protecting objects in the open air invariably have to withstand the most adverse conditions. At the same time, they have to be functional: Lightweight, durable and easy to handle.

What is PLANOFIL^®?

Our PLANOFIL^® tarpaulin fabric is a real all-rounder. With its special eco-friendly PU coating and the strong ripstop woven structure, it provides perfect, certified protection. For instance, PLANOFIL^® is extremely abrasion-resistant, tear-resistant, waterproof, weather-resistant and UV-resistant (UPF 50+). In five out of thirteen functional categories tested, PLANOFIL^® is the sole market leader (including tear propagation resistance, water column, Bundesmann beading effect), and in a further six categories (including UV protection, abrasion resistance, spray test) we are also at the absolute pinnacle.

Why PLANOFIL^®?

Our tarpaulin material is ultra-lightweight. At 190 g/m², PLANOFIL^® is one of the lightest fabrics of its kind, and can be folded to a small size for storage. Even when used for its primary application as a protective covering for boats or ships, this is still a major advantage. Compared to other materials, PLANOFIL^® is also significantly more UV-resistant, absorbs virtually no moisture and keeps its shape even when wet. Furthermore, our tarpaulin is especially easy to handle: Thanks to the textile underside, PLANOFIL^® glides with little effort over all surfaces. And thanks to a specially formulated water-repellent finish, cleaning is no hassle either. Even stubborn dirt is usually washed off the tarpaulin the next time it rains.
