Covers

PLANOFIL®, our premium quality tarpaulin material is made in Switzerland and offers many advantages over conventional tarpaulin fabrics. No matter what is being covered and protected from the elements – whether boats and ships, vehicles, bistro sets or garden sofas and more besides. There are as many uses for PLANOFIL® as there are extraordinary qualities of this highly practical textile.

Lightweight design

PLANOFIL® is ultra-lightweight. The tarpaulin fabric weighs only 190 g/m2, making it the lightest of its kind on the market. The low weight makes it easy to handle (for quick covering and uncovering with minimal effort), plus a PLANOFIL® tarpaulin can be folded away compactly for space-saving storage. Both of these properties are a real boon when it comes to loading boats.

Durability and resistance

Reliable protection for objects kept outdoors, such as cars, furniture and cargo, begins and ends with functional properties that make the cover material resistant to environmental influences, decay and other harmful elements. The ultra hard-wearing PLANOFIL® fabric is UV-resistant (high UPF 50+, tested to ISO 13758 standard), weather-resistant (from -40 to +80 °C), waterproof, seawater-resistant, water-repellent (tested in accordance with Bundesmann ISO 29865) and dirt-repellent. It is also specially treated to prevent mould from forming.

Low-maintenance

Dirt, including bird droppings (every boat owner's greatest fear), is no match for PLANOFIL®. The special non-stick, water-repellent finish on the tarpaulin material makes it particularly resilient against dirt. Even stubborn dirt struggles to stick to the surface of the tarpaulin; instead, it is usually washed away the next time it rains.

Space-saving design

Whether out on a boat or at home in the garage, in the basement or in an outbuilding – storage space is at a premium almost everywhere. So, all the better that PLANOFIL® covers roll up into an impressively small bundle for hassle-free storage.

Extraordinary resistance to wear and tear

Even after years of use and exposure to rain, wind and storms as well as extensive sunlight, PLANOFIL® maintains its robust and extremely tear-resistant ripstop fabric structure. Tear resistance (ISO 13934-1) and tear propagation resistance (Elmendorf ISO 13937-1) are also tested to industry standards, as is the abrasion resistance (Martindale ISO 12947-2) of the premium tarpaulin fabric.

Easy to handle and work with

The ultra-lightweight, flexible and thin nature of PLANOFIL® is a major plus when it comes to transforming the material into fitted covers (e.g. by boat makers and upholsterers). What's more, the end user also benefits from the fabric's one-sided coating, because the textile structure on the underside allows it to glide effortlessly over every surface – whereas the coated top side is designed to block out the elements. The no-hassle cleaning, either by rain alone or with cold tap water, makes PLANOFIL® not only a user-friendly option but environmentally friendly too.

„We sell exclusively the Swiss made PLANOFIL® to our demanding clientele, because the material and its properties are just so impressive – lightweight, robust, extremely small packaging dimensions and exceptional durability.“
